How does the Printer Converter work?

The Printer converter is consisted of Zilog CPU, memory, and I/O components. It receives data sent from Yokogawa DCS via input port which can be either parallel or serial RS-232C port and stores the data in the memory. The CPU picks data one-by-one, converts the data to PCL or EPSON Escape Code depend on the connected printer. The converted data are sent to the printer. You can connect Hewlett-Packard Inkjet printer (for color hard copy), Laserjet printer (for document printing), or dotmatrix printer (for message printing) to the parallel output port of the converter to get the printout.
